with idiot songs
and dancing

celebrities,
while slave
laborers keep
the store’s
registers ringing
and racist
murderers
gather about
the drowning
pools, so I give
the only thanks
I have left,
I thank my lucky
stars I’m white,
for that is the only
reason I am still alive.

a glamorous unraveling

while the movie
star’s wedding
party waited
to disembark
from a fleet
of sleek, custom
made crafts
bobbing above
the shit-filled
canals of Venice,
as legions of
homeless lined
up for a fist
full of crumbs
not far from
Beverly Hills,
one can easily
be forgiven
the high-pitched
screams issuing
forth from one’s
frantic mouth.
